Scope:

Bilﬁnger UK were approached to install boat landing structures to offshore platforms in the North Sea to the decommissioned assets owned by the client to allow the removal of an operational helideck and need for helicopter travel during the assets life in lighthouse mode (5-10 years).

Asset A:

Extensive planning and personnel brieﬁngs
Scope executed on the Beatrice A platform during derrick dismantle scope
Destruct of old Damaged redundant spider deck walkway and stair case
Destruct of old coatings on jacket leg and reinstate a splash zone coating
Install of 6 25 tonne air hoists and 30 tonne beam clamps to underdeck in preparation of heavy lift from dedicated supply vessel
Install of 1 large friction clamp to jacket leg and 2 half clamps to spider deck members
Lift 1st part sea ladder from supply vessel using platform crane and transfer to airhosts
Fit and tension structure to clamps
Grout 2 half clamps spider deck members
Install new boat landing stair tower structure
Tension 4 friction clamps to new structures
Install new spider deck walkway and stair case to join new sea ladder
Coating repairs to new structure
Install fall arrest system to new sea ladder

Asset B:

Extensive planning and personnel brieﬁngs
Scope executed during well abandonment project on Ensco 80
Destruct of old Damaged redundant spider deck walkway
Destruct of old coatings on jacket leg and reinstate a splash zone coating
Install of heavy winch and sub-frame to cellar deck
Install of 8 25 tonne air hoists to underdeck in preparation of heavy lift from dedicated supply vessel
Install of 1 large friction clamp to jacket leg and 2 half clamps to spider deck members
Lift sea ladder from supply vessel using large drum winch and transfer to airhosts
Fit and tension sea ladder to clamps
Grout 2 half clamps spider deck members
Install new spider deck walkway to join new sea ladder
Coating repairs to new structure
Install fall arrest system to new sea ladder

Asset C:

Extensive planning and personnel brieﬁngs
Scope executed during well abandonment project on Ensco 80
Set up heavy lifting equipment
Remove old walkway section
Install 2 large half clamps
Fully tension sea ladder to 2 large friction clamps to jacket leg
Install new walkway section to join to new sea ladder
Coating repairs to new structure
Install fall arrest system to new sea ladder
