We offer our customers in the energy, chemicals & petrochemicals, pharma & biopharma and oil & gas industries a comprehensive portfolio of services that make their plants more efficient, reliable and more sustainable. Our products cover the entire value chain from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and plant expansions as well as turnarounds and digital applications. We are mainly active in Europe, North America and the Middle East. With our integrated solutions, we help our customers increase their profitability and focus on their core business.
Our strategic levers: Operational Excellence & Positioning
Our vision is to become No. 1 for our customers in enhancing efficiency and sustainability. To achieve our mid-term goals by 2025/2027, we have defined two strategic levers:
Operational Excellence
The first strategic lever focuses on the internal perspective: Bilfinger is continuously enhancing its own operational excellence for the benefit of its customers.
By investing in the training and development of our employees, we offer them attractive career opportunities and provide our customers with qualified specialists. We optimize our procurement processes across our regions, thus reducing costs and maintaining quality standards.
We standardize and bundle our single trades within the Group to create uniform and comprehensive solutions. To this end, nine Global Product Centers have been defined and established, ensuring that we deliver our solutions professionally and at the same high level of quality in all of the Group’s regions and markets. We also reduce operational risks (de-risking) by selecting orders according to standardized processes, concentrating on our core business and shifting our business from a project to a recurring service business and standardized products.
We also use automation and digitalization to simplify internal processes and increase operational efficiency.
Positioning
The second strategic lever focuses on the external perspective: Bilfinger is positioning itself as a solution partner for its customers. With a comprehensive industrial services portfolio, we help them to increase their efficiency and sustainability. By bundling services from a single source, we significantly enhance efficiency and sustainability effects for our customers and contribute to their increased profitability. We also take advantage of the opportunities presented by digitalization and artificial intelligence to offer innovative solutions that transform industry.
The goal is to offer all of our products in existing markets and to serve all potential customers. We see market expansion as both the expansion of our core business in existing regions and expansion into adjacent regions. In addition to organic growth, acquisitions can also help us to meet our strategic goals.

Sustainability is a central component of our strategy. This is also reflected in the specific targets we have set for ourselves in the three sustainability categories of environment, social and governance.
