Decommissioning of two steam generators at the former Mülheim-Kärlich nuclear power plant

Bilfinger took over the complete decommissioning of the steam generators. A specially developed dismantling technique was used for this purpose, which enabled the steam generators to be dismantled in their installed condition.

Added value:

  • Development of a flexible decommissioning plan that enables the parallelization of work steps
  • Simple interface coordination with upstream and downstream trades, through integrated lean management
  • Experienced operating team for special operations
  • Savings in cost-intensive conversion measures as well as complex special transports through "in situ" dismantling
