Bilfinger UK's Engineering Department were tasked to develop a detailed design of the process modules of a client site and then to carry out a detailed capital estimate prior to EPC. The client has a process to covert end of life plastics into valuable liquid hydrocarbons for use in plastics production and as a fuel. They wanted to standardise their design so it could be used at various global locations.

We created a piping, structural and E&I design and provided process safety management, including HAZOP and Hazardous Area/DSEAR. We then executed the whole design in an intelligent 3D environment and completed a full seismic analysis for the structure and pipe systems. We also conducted expert stress analysis that was required on the piping running at high temperatures (up to 500°c) in short distances.
