Bilfinger UK's Engineering Department were tasked to undertake front end and detailed design of our client's large underground gas storage facility.
The client wanted to expand capacity which involved two new compressors and two new gas hydration trains.
We provided HAZOP management and produced a civil design of the foundations including a compressor building. We then executed mechanical and structural design of all of the piping, equipment support, 100 bar and DN600, which included stress analysis to NEMA.
We also reintegrated the existing model to create 3D modelling of equipment, piping and steel and were subsequently awarded the construction phase of the contract based on the success of this project.
