Scope:

Bilfinger UK's Mechanical Department were asked to fabricate and install new pipework on a Nitric Acid Plant as one of a number of critical path jobs during an ammonia outage. This required a new flange to be welded to an existing pipe and a new 36 inch pipe spool to be fitted.

This was a critical fast-track project with an accelerated schedule as the normal process would involve multiple site visits to ensure dimensional accuracy and a Field Fit Weld (FFW).

We provided turnkey solution including laser alignment support from our Engineering team. This allowed the continuation of work in our Fabrication Facility with Field Fit Weld (FFW) off site, all of which ensured dimensional accuracy first time.

It also minimised site work and ensured the project was completed right first time and on time.
