Royal Buisman asked Bilfinger to brainstorm together with them how to realize their ambitions to become futureproof, so that they can continue to supply their clients with their products. The challenge for Buisman is naturally, due to the growing demand for Buisman products worldwide in bakery, savoury and hot drinks, to expand their production capacity to supply that demand.

Bilfinger developed three scenarios: a new-build factory at a new location, conversion of an existing building into a factory or to scale up production at the current location. The three scenarios were explored and Buisman eventually chose to remain at their location at Zwartsluis and continue production and to further optimize and expand their production, allowing them to continue for another five-to-ten-years at this site.
