Bilfinger modernizes overhead power lines in Saxony

August 19, 2016

Bilfinger will carry out the modernization of the 110 kV overhead power line between Krauschwitz and Reichwalde Ost in Saxony, Germany. A new 8.1km section of overhead line will first be completed. The existing line, which has a total length of 13.2 km, will then be dismantled. The order volume is approximately €3 million. Construction will start in September 2016 and is planned to be completed by May 2018. The measure is necessary because the Reichwalde surface mine in the Oberlausitz area is being further expanded.

Bilfinger Freileitungsbau is also modernizing the 110 kV overhead power line which runs from Taucha to Bennewitz. The order volume of this project amounts to approximately €1.6 million. The work will be carried out between March and October 2016.

The client for both projects is Mitteldeutsche Netzgesellschaft Strom (formerly EnviaM), with whom a business relationship has existed since 2010.
