At the cutting edge of technology

Battery technology and e-mobility have become very important sectors in recent years. I find it very exciting to work in this area, because new technological advances come along almost every day."

Reducing CO2 emissions, improving the quality of life in cities and keeping her finger on the pulse of technological innovation - three things that make Magda Zemanová’s job at Bilfinger really exciting. She lives in the Czech Republic, where the automotive sector is an important industry. At Bilfinger Tebodin, Magda is in charge of automotive and battery production. “Battery technology and e-mobility have become very important sectors in recent years. I find it very exciting to work in this area, because new technological advances come along almost every day, including higher storage capacity or new production technologies,“ says our colleague.

Magda has been with Bilfinger Tebodin for 10 years. She was previously self-employed as a civil engineer, then began looking for a new challenge – which she found at Bilfinger. She initially worked as a project assistant, where she supported experienced project managers at Bilfinger. “A big advantage at Bilfinger is that there are opportunities for personal development. That’s how I progressed from project management to business development in the automotive sector,” Magda explains. In her current role, she is constantly exchanging ideas and information with colleagues around the world and assists customers in an advisory capacity. “I really enjoy visiting construction sites to get an even better impression of what conditions are like on site. This also makes it possible for me to be in direct contact with customers to better understand their needs as well wishes and advise them accordingly.” She adds: “The in-person visits are always a nice change from the digital meetings.”

Our colleague is thrilled that Bilfinger can count most of the bigger players in battery production among its customers. “In Eastern Europe, we advise our customers on market entry, not all of them come from Europe and therefore need support. We mainly help to fast-track projects, which requires a lot of flexibility from us as a service provider. But that is not a problem,” Magda emphasizes. This is exactly where she sees a big advantage of Bilfinger: “We have the possibility to rely on internal expertise. Especially in large projects where raw materials are involved, we work together across unit boundaries.” Magda sees e-mobility and battery production as the start of more responsible and sustainable energy management. Our colleague is particularly concerned that carbon neutrality is also taken into account in the value chain.

Magda is a very technically-focused person who likes to learn new processes. That’s why she feels very comfortable at Bilfinger. Addressing applicants, Magda concludes: “At Bilfinger you can learn a lot from experienced colleagues, work on interesting projects and do so in an open, friendly corporate culture. I find it particularly valuable that we give everyone at Bilfinger the opportunity to develop personally.”
