Hard work and courage
pay off
I feel very much at home at Bilfinger."
The dream of working abroad has come true for Ahmed Saleh Ibrahim. Having completed his mechanical engineering studies in Egypt, he worked as Piping Engineer. But he wanted more: A job in the Netherlands to boost his engineering career. "When Bilfinger Tebodin approached me, I saw my chance and seized it," said the 32-year-old and moved with his family to Maastricht.
He fondly remembers his first day of work at the Tebodin office: "I was assigned a buddy who helped me familiarize myself quickly with my new work environment. I felt very welcome."
In his first project he was responsible for the piping design and equipment layout deliverables for a modified onshore heat exchanger platform at Fibrant factory at Chemelot site. This was quite challenging as the customer had their individual standards and specifications according to Sitech standards. Linking all the documents together also requires a great deal of experience to get the correct information for the design. "My colleagues gave me a lot of support," says Ahmed.
He is still very happy with his decision: "I feel very much at home at Bilfinger. I can show and develop my skills. And I am happy to be part of such a professional team in a great work environment".
