BASF SE honoured Bilfinger Peters Engineering (BPE) this year with the Contractor Award for 2017. The prize was granted in recognition of the company’s outstanding performance in the fields of quality assurance and safety.
Each year, the BASF Group honours its best partners for their exemplary achievements in ensuring safety at the workplace and quality at the BASF works in Ludwigshafen. This year’s award, which had the motto “Improving the Works Hand-in-Hand with Our Contractors,” went to a total of eleven partner companies representing various trades. Consistent adherence to safe practices on the plant premises is a key success factor for improving the quality and safety-related results achieved by contractors. This means complying with the traffic rules as well as the safety rules in force at the workplace.
BPE has been putting its engineering specialists to work for the world’s leading chemical company for more than twenty years now. Their largest current project involves the detail piping for the acetylene plant at BASF’s parent plant in Ludwigshafen. According to its press releases, BASF intends to place the acetylene factory into service in the fourth quarter of 2019 and reach an annual output of 90,000 tonnes, thus making it a global player.
ROUGHLY 100 BPE EMPLOYEES ARE DEPLOYED TO THE BASF WORKS IN LUDWIGSHAFEN; THEIR CONSISTENT ATTENTION TO QUALITY AND SAFETY HAS PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN EARNING THIS AWARD, OF WHICH WE ARE VERY PROUD.”
