HVC is a modern utility company, owned by and working for shareholders: municipalities and water authorities. HVC’s mission is to help their shareholders achieve their ambitions in recycling waste and in renewable energy. For this purpose HVC lays heating networks on two locations and asked Bilfinger Tebodin to play a key role in engineering the heating networks. HVC has partnered with Bilfinger Tebodin since they started in 2002.
When HVC wanted to expand the heating network to Heerhugowaard and Langedijk (province of North-Holland, the Netherlands), across long distances they asked Bilfinger Tebodin for engineering services: routing studies, basic design and detail engineering and stakeholder management.
The expansion of the network was a challenging project because of the number of stakeholders, the limited space available and the short timeline for completing the design. The biggest challenge was laying pipes through areas where people live, work and cycle. Successful stakeholder management was therefore very important.
