Hello everyone, I am Arie Boven, a full-time team member of Bilfinger's Electrical Engineering department in the Netherlands. I started here as a graduate student working on my graduation project and stayed after my internship was finished. Starting my studies as an Allround Operational Technician, my interest in Electrotechnics gained during internships led me to get a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ultimately leading me to a job at Bilfinger.
Meeting Bilfinger
For my graduation project I was looking for an assignment centered around energy distribution. It was during this period that I became familiar with Bilfinger, a well-known company within my university's network. My first experience with the company left a good impression, which is why I made the decision to choose Bilfinger for my graduation project. The positive atmosphere and interactions with the people there, along with the smooth process of getting my assignment, strongly influenced my decision.
My graduation project
During my graduate internship, I was tasked with creating a template to streamline the electrical engineering process for an energy storage solution. My experience went beyond the office, with site visits giving me a practical insight into project execution and revealing the challenge of accessing important information not always easily accessible. Despite working on the project independently, the supportive atmosphere at Bilfinger made it easy to seek help or advice from colleagues.
Becoming part of the team
After completing my graduation project, I was offered to join the company as a full-time team member. I am extensively engaged in high-voltage projects, deeply immersed in engineering tasks at Bilfinger. Choosing to stay in the same department ensured a seamless transition, working alongside familiar faces. The supportive environment at Bilfinger, coupled with the diverse range of projects, creates a comfortable and dynamic work setting.
As I continue to contribute to the field of electrical engineering, I am eager to see what the future holds for me at Bilfinger.
