Constituent meeting of the Supervisory Board and appointment of the Executive Board of Bilfinger Berger SE
With the constituent meeting of the Supervisory Board of Bilfinger Berger SE on September 8, 2010, the Group has completed the next step in its transformation to a European stock company.
Dr. h.c. Bernhard Walter was elected as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bilfinger Berger SE and Stephan Brückner was elected Deputy Chairman. Bernhard Walter has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Bilfinger Berger AG since 1998 and its Chairman since 2006. Stephan Brückner has been Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Group Works Council of Bilfinger Berger AG since 2008.
In its constituent meeting, the Supervisory Board also appointed the Executive Board of Bilfinger Berger SE: The Chairman of the Executive Board is Herbert Bodner, who has held this position at Bilfinger Berger since 1999. Other members of the Executive Board are Joachim Müller (Chief Financial Officer), Klaus Raps, Prof. Hans Helmut Schetter, Thomas Töpfer and Joachim Enenkel.
Joachim Enenkel, previously Managing Director of Bilfinger Berger Ingenieurbau GmbH, succeeds Kenneth D. Reid, who, after many years of service, will leave the Company by mutual agreement, announcing his intention to pursue activities abroad.
Upon registration in the commercial register, expected at the beginning of October, the transformation to Bilfinger Berger SE will be complete. Bilfinger Berger initiated this process to reflect the substantial increase in importance of the Company's Europe-wide activities.
