Industrial Services and Facility Services: Bilfinger Berger leads current industry rankings

Bilfinger Berger has expanded its leading position in the German and international industrial services business: the services Group is at the top of market research institute Lünendonk’s industry ranking of German companies in both industrial maintenance and facility management. The annual studies are considered the most important market analyses in these sectors.

In industrial maintenance, the annual output volume of Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services, including the contribution of the Austrian MCE Group which was acquired in 2009, totals €2.9 billion, almost three times as much as the second-ranked company on the Lünendonk list. This edge is primarily the result of Bilfinger Berger’s broad international presence. German competitors normally play a secondary role on the international stage.

Bilfinger Berger is also at the top of the Lünendonk facility management list. Following the integration of M+W Zander FM, which was acquired in the previous year, the output volume in Germany for Bilfinger Berger Facility Services was nearly €1 billion in 2009. Including international activities, the company’s output volume was over €1.4 billion.

Bilfinger Berger’s services activities will continue to grow in the future. Funds generated by the sale of the Australian business will be used for the expansion of services, which in 2009 accounted for 75 percent of the Groups continuing operations.
