Diversity

Diversity is the Key to Our Success

Everyone is welcome at Bilfinger, and everyone contributes to the big picture – regardless of personal characteristics like their age, gender, worldview and experience, education, origin, religion, marital status, or skin colour. We are committed to upholding the principles of tolerance, respect, and equal opportunity for all individuals.

To underpin these values, Bilfinger has joined the organisation Charta der Vielfalt. Together with numerous other companies, Bilfinger has set itself the task of actively promoting cultural change towards more diversity and equal opportunities by signing this charter.

Let’s Celebrate Our Differences

As an international company offering diverse services, a wide range of products and an international workforce, diversity is the foundation for our success.

The variety of experiences and personalities, along with the integration of individual viewpoints into our company, helps us to remain innovative over the long term. The diversity of our employees helps us to successfully master constantly changing challenges and continuously expand our market position.

As an internationally operating group, diversity and inclusion are keys to success and of paramount importance for me as CEO.

Equal Opportunity for All

Equal opportunity is an essential part of how Bilfinger does business. It is our policy not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability or because he or she is a protected veteran.

The only thing we consider when hiring for our jobs and for employees’ personal careers are the right qualifications.

All of our processes – hiring, compensation, development and promotion, and everyday work – are focused on securing equal opportunities for all at Bilfinger. To ensure the success of our company, we need diverse ideas, different personalities and a wide range of areas of expertise.

Because of this, guaranteeing equal opportunity and diversity are of central importance for us.

We Promote Equality

We want to continue promoting gender equality worldwide. One example of this is our goal to increase the percentage of women in management positions worldwide to at least 20 - 25 percent depending on the management level by 2026.

By introducing modern working environments, we enable employees to balance their professional and family life. Furthermore, we support personal development specifically for women, for instance through seminars and mentoring programs.

Bilfinger Mentoring Programmes aim to foster the exchange of experience between less experienced and professionally experienced employees from different business segments and countries to support the transfer of knowledge as well as perspective changes in a sustainable manner within Bilfinger.

Thrive in an Inclusive Community

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Community

This community is a group of committed volunteers shaping the future of our EDI strategy. They’ve built the foundations for a long‑term framework that supports our people and reflects the needs of our workforce.

Because EDI covers many areas, we’ve chosen to focus initially on three chapters: Women, Disability and Neurodiversity, each representing a key area where we can make the greatest impact. Like chapters in a book, they form the beginning of an inclusive story where every individual’s voice and experience is valued.

Bilfinger Women Network

This is a group-wide initiative aimed to foster gender diversity, and creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all employees. By promoting diversity, this employee resource group aims to increase job satisfaction, enhance teamwork, drive innovation and reduce turnover, ultimately contributing to the organisation's overall performance and attractiveness to potential employees and young female talents.

Diversity is the basis for Bilfinger's success as an international company.
