Bilfinger replaced the existing pump at the Krimpenerwaard with a fish friendly Stork pump that can also operate as a turbine. The pumpturbine is designed and produced in accordance with NEN 8775 (> 97% fish friendly). The turbine operation is also designed to be fish friendly with 47 kW continuously generated at a head of 3.4 m.

Scope for the conversion to a BVOP 120 fish friendly pump:

• New hydraulic impeller design
• Pump manufacturing and assembly
• Production of a prefabricated concrete volute casing
• 280 kW Permanent Magnet Motor
• On-site installation, IBS and SAT
