Bilfinger Berger wins further order for the expansion of Poland's motorway network

In Poland, Bilfinger Berger will expand a 23-kilometer section of National Road 8 from two to four lanes. The order is valued at €90 million. The section of the motorway near Rawa Mazowiecka will receive a technically demanding concrete carriageway with a complex high-grip surface. In addition to the road itself, four junctions and 19 bridge structures will also be built. Work is scheduled for completion in mid 2012.

Public sector investment in the expansion of Polish transport infrastructure is receiving massive support from the European Union's structure fund. Bilfinger Berger is also benefitting from strong demand in the Polish market. The company is currently carrying out a number of major road construction projects, including an order for the construction of a 13-kilometer section of the new motorway ring around Warsaw that was just received in July 2010. The total volume of Bilfinger Berger's ongoing infrastructure projects in Poland is over €400 million.
