Bilfinger Berger reaches financial close on highway project near Melbourne

Just three weeks after being named preferred bidder, a project company led by Bilfinger Berger has reached financial close on a 25-kilometer section of the Peninsula Link Highway near Melbourne. The company will design, finance, build and, over a period of 25 years, operate the route.

Investment volume for the public-private partnership project which has been conceived as an availability model is €562 million. The Group holds a one-third stake in the project company and will make an equity investment of €26 million. Bilfinger Berger Australia is responsible for construction and maintenance of the highway.

Bilfinger Berger's global concessions portfolio now consists of 27 projects with an investment volume of €7 billion and a total equity commitment of €366 million.
