Opening ceremony under the world's biggest tented roof: Bilfinger Berger manages shopping and entertainment center in Kazakhstan
The spectacular Khan Shatyr shopping and entertainment center in the Kazakh capital, Astana, for which Bilfinger Berger will take over center and facility management, was formally opened in a ceremony last week by the president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nasarbajew. The largest shopping and leisure center in Central Asia was designed by the distinguished architect Lord Norman Foster. At 150 meters, it is the tallest tented roof construction in the world. Inside, visitors will find 160 retail outlets selling international premium brands and unique leisure facilities.
Bilfinger Berger Facility Services will make a major contribution to the success of Khan Shatyr by providing comprehensive services for center and facility management. The project contractor is EPM, a Bilfinger Berger Group company which manages more than 30 shopping centers in Germany alone. The company is responsible, among other things, for operations, rental and all associated commercial services, as well as event management, marketing and public relations. The facility management work includes a full mandate for the center’s technical area and infrastructure.
Bilfinger Berger Facility Services provides services for the entire real-estate lifecycle. The company is Germany’s leading provider of asset and property management as well as facility management services and is active worldwide with 30 international subsidiaries.
