Meet Agata Karpała, 48, who is a Compliance Representative at Bilfinger in Poland. We talked to her about her personal perspective on the role of teamwork in building a strong ethical culture – proofing how deeply connected our two Bilfinger Values Accountability and Team Spirit are. Agata shares how collaboration across departments supports compliance efforts, what challenges and values come with cross-functional cooperation, and why integrity and team spirit is at the heart of our organizational culture.
What role does collaboration play in your work?
“Teamwork helps us better understand the needs and challenges of other departments, which makes it easier to jointly implement compliance principles. The collaboration with administrative teams such as HR and Finance as well as operational teams allows me to respond to situations that require support, clarification, or decisions quicklier. This ensures consistency in our actions and strengthens our position as a reliable and trustworthy business partner.”
What is the biggest challenge and the greatest value of teamwork?
“The biggest challenge to me is ensuring that all team members understand how compliance and ethics relate to their daily responsibilities – especially in a dynamic environment where speed matters.
“The greatest value, on the other hand, is that through teamwork we can develop solutions that are not only compliant with regulations and guidelines, but also practical and supportive of business goals.”
