Bilfinger contributes to the project by providing expertise in steel structures, piping, and electrical systems
Stenungsund, Sweden. Bilfinger has been awarded several extensive assignments in a project at Borealis’ polyethylene plant in Stenungsund. The project is part of Borealis’ major ongoing investments and aims to increase the production capacity of XLPE materials, a high‑performance insulation material used in power cables worldwide.
Bilfinger plays a key role in the project and is responsible for several deliveries within the project, which includes the procurement and manufacturing of steel structures for a tower, prefabrication of piping systems, and installation of equipment. In addition, Bilfinger contributes expertise in electrical and instrumentation work, as well as support in various sub‑projects with planning, project management, and quality assurance to ensure an efficient and safe delivery.
The project began on site in the summer of 2025, and the assignments were awarded at short notice, which has placed high demands on flexibility, planning, and delivery capability.
