Challenge & Solution

For this client, Bilfinger Thermeq built a new steam boiler installation with a capacity of 110 t/hr, 80 barg, and 485 °C. The boiler had to be equipped with burners suitable for firing not only natural gas but also the available complex fuel gas.
As Bilfinger Thermeq, we developed a custom-made combustion solution. We designed the burners, fuel skids, and burner control system in such a way that the complex fuel gas can be fired across all 12 different cases while meeting the specified emission limits. Additionally, we designed and installed two auxiliary burners to achieve the required very wide steam temperature control range.

Scope of work
  • Engineering (conceptual, basic, detail, process, mechanical and E&IA).
  • Purchase/delivery of all necessary raw materials and equipment for the burners, fuel skids and FGR system.
  • Production in our modern workshop of the burners, fuel skids and FGR ducting burners (incl. NDT, preservation, packaging & transport). 
  • Commissioning.
