Online Condition Monitoring & Vibration Measurement
Machine Diagnostics
Bilfinger implements real-time vibration monitoring systems with AI-based early warning functions. These systems are effective in variable processes and utilize ATEX-certified sensors for safe operation in explosive atmospheres. Dashboards provide insight into asset status, notifications, and integration with platforms such as SAP and Maximo.
Our advanced measurement instruments support preventive and predictive maintenance through trend analysis and transient measurements. This is essential during commissioning, root cause analysis, and static equipment inspections. Applications include pumps, blowers, fans, wind turbines, compressors, mixers, reactors, and turbomachinery from all OEMs.


Visual Inspections and Motion Amplification
Bilfinger performs borescopic inspections to detect bearing damage, gear wear, and contamination. Visual inspections of static equipment identify fouling, weld defects, and leakages. With our advanced cameras, clear images can be captured in the most challenging situations. Borescope cameras also enable visual measurements to map crack formation or pitting.
Motion Amplification technology visualizes minimal vibrations and structural movements through contactless video analysis, contributing to safety and troubleshooting.
Field Balancing
Bilfinger performs on-site balancing of rotating equipment such as blowers and fans without disassembly. This includes detailed vibration measurements, weight adjustments, and reporting to correct imbalance and improve operational stability.
Inspections and Oil Management
Lubrication Services
Bilfinger establishes and executes inspection rounds, where an average of 24 inspection points are periodically checked and reported. This includes contaminated sight glasses, leakages, elevated vibrations, and temperatures. Additionally, Bilfinger provides comprehensive oil and grease management services, ranging from small-volume oil changes to bulk systems, including flushing of turbine trains during commissioning.
Our methodology ensures compliance with cleanliness classes and procedures. Oil analyses monitor lubricant quality and condition using techniques such as MPC, TOST, and ISO & ASTM standards. Filtration techniques—including varnish removal, water extraction, and bypass oil heating—eliminate contaminants, increase system reliability, and extend the service life of components and lubricants.


Grease Lubrication
We specialize in various forms of grease lubrication: periodic lubrication, condition-based lubrication, and fully automated smart lubrication.
- Periodic Lubrication — Manual greasing is performed on a frequency basis, supported by grease analysis and lubricant supply to ensure lubrication quality. Manual greasing is applied to rotating equipment, as well as chain drives, spindles, seals, and valves. Bilfinger guarantees a clean working method with certified grease types and equipment.
- Condition-Based Lubrication — Using ultrasonic technology, early-stage bearing damage is detected, preventing under- or over-lubrication. Lubrication is applied based on the actual needs of the equipment, increasing reliability and reducing waste. Ideal for installations that are not continuously in operation.
- Smart Lubrication — In combination with online condition monitoring, a smart single-point lubricator can automatically dispense grease when required based on vibration behavior. The most ideal solution for hard-to-reach locations with critical installations.
Digital Lubrication Management
With LubePM, our digital lubrication management system, we manage lubrication activities efficiently and reliably. The system enables organizations to plan lubrication rounds in a structured manner, register deviations, and accurately document lubricants used.
Through integration with platforms such as SAP and Maximo, LubePM seamlessly connects with existing maintenance processes. The system provides access to globally applied protocols and supports reporting that offers insight into performance and savings.

Commissioning Support
During commissioning of compressors and turbines, Bilfinger delivers high-velocity oil flushing, wire mesh filtration, and 24-hour oil analyses to ensure reliability. Our methodology complies with strict cleanliness classes and procedures.
Site-Based Lubrication Management
Our facility at Chemiepark Delfzijl offers storage capacity for more than 100 oil drums and 1,000 grease cartridges. Incoming oil is filtered and dispensed contamination-free, supported by occupational health and safety-compliant equipment. A responsive team ensures efficient handling of urgent tasks and maintenance shutdowns.
