Scope:
Bilfinger UK's Wind Power department were awarded a Framework Agreement Contract with the client for the supply of technicians to cover multiple services for all of their UK offshore and onshore wind farms.
We were asked to assist with the repair and maintenance of lifts and cranes as the incumbent supplier was falling behind in regard to undertaking both inspection, repair and maintenance elements. The client was under pressure to have these assets working appropriately, so to enable the many other contractors that needed access to the wind turbine generators to undertake their particular scope of works.
Requirements:
- Complete the campaign with zero incidents.
- Integrate working with the incumbent supplier.
- Clear a back-log of M&R which was only at 10% completed at the time.
- Complete the full M&R campaign scope within the baselined schedule duration.
- Maintain the scope within the approved budget.
Services:
Bilfinger UK supplied four competent experienced Technicians for this scope from our pool of employed personnel pool. To date, we have cleared the significant backlog of repairs and maintenance. Bilfinger assisted in planning for the estimated amount of spares required for the lifts and cranes. We also provided an Authorised Technician (AT) to the project which eliminated the need for the client to provide an escort. Within six weeks of being on-site Bilfinger UK had got the M&R back-log up to 70% completed.
The client have since requested for Bilfinger UK to supply an additional six Technicians to assist them throughout their latest maintenance campaigns bringing our total on site to ten. We now also have the Motion Kinetic CMS software in place.
