The seal of approval confirms the bottle’s pioneering role with regard to innovation, design and sustainability"

Up to now, process engineer Evangelia Gkeredaki at Bilfinger Tebodin shuddered at the thought of plastic bottles, but she takes a big gulp of water from the Dopper bottle with a totally clear conscience. Why? The bottle is pollutant-free and fully recyclable. Bilfinger Tebodin accompanied the product through the cradle-to-cradle certification process. Her colleagues collected information about the bottle and how it is manufactured, visited the production facilities and assessed whether everything conformed to the required standards.

“The seal of approval confirms the bottle’s pioneering role with regard to innovation, design and sustainability,” Gkeredaki explains. The idea behind the cradle-to-cradle concept is that at the end of a product’s lifecycle, all materials can be used for the same product or for another. Thus, no waste is generated.

Bilfinger Tebodin has been an official assessor for cradle-to-cradle since 2013 and has already implemented projects in China, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, France and Germany. Currently, a total of 23 certification processes are underway for companies like Ahrend, Modulogreen, and Xindao.
