A smooth way to save
What is the exact point at which a worn part should be replaced? When is it neither too soon nor too late? Erich Meyer, a senior engineer at Bilfinger Industrial Services in Austria, has been examining this issue and has made the “Vibra Check” market ready. The device measures vibration from transmissions and pumps and forecasts when exactly they need to be replaced. Meyer has also developed a condition- based approach to lubricant replacement.
This process analyzes whether lubricant needs to be replaced on the customary twoyear cycle or whether it might remain effective significantly longer. These developments allow Bilfinger to offer its customers in the processing and manufacturing industry real savings potential. Erich Meyer has been awarded the “Bilfinger’s Best” employee prize for his hard work on behalf of customers.
