Bilfinger is supporting Nutrinova with the development of a new production facility for artificial sweeteners in Germany. The project focuses on duplicating an existing plant at a new location to ensure product availability in its global market.
The facility will be a near-identical copy of the existing plant, featuring an expanded layout, a GMP-compliant production area for food-grade applications, and an adjacent office building. The production process is complex, involving the handling of raw materials in solid form, conversion to liquids during production, and processing back into solid end products.
“We are proud to support Nutrinova in expanding its production capabilities with this new facility,” says Kevin Pieterse, President Consulting & Engineering Western and Central Europe. “By combining our engineering expertise and cross-border collaboration, we are delivering a solid foundation for Nutrinova’s future growth and resilience.”
The project is delivered through close collaboration between engineering teams from Bilfinger in Germany and the Netherlands. Building on the strong performance of the concept phase led by our German team, Bilfinger is responsible for delivering a FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) package and 10% cost estimate, providing the basis for the detailed phase of the project.
