Bilfinger makes Energy Robotics’ Enterprise AI platform with autonomous drones and robots for cutting-edge inspection services available for customers
Comprehensive digital customer solutions maximize efficiency, reduce operational costs and enhance safety in challenging environments
Partnership underscores Bilfinger’s commitment to advancing digitalization and innovation in industrial services
Mannheim, Germany. International industrial services provider Bilfinger is partnering with Energy Robotics, a pioneer in Enterprise AI platforms for autonomous inspection devices like robots and drones, to offer its customers in the process industry comprehensive, state-of-the-art inspection solutions. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing digitalization and innovation within the industrial sector by enhancing the safety, operational efficiency and cost efficiency of inspections.
The new partnership enables Bilfinger to offer comprehensive inspection solutions to their customers: Bilfinger will incorporate and support Energy Robotics’ advanced Enterprise AI Platform as part of its digital services portfolio, advancing the use of industrial devices for end-to-end value creation. The platform enables autonomous data collection from robots, drones, and different IoT devices across industrial plants, which allow for inspection of remote, hard-to-reach or enclosed areas. The specialized AI processes and interprets this information – identifying equipment, reading pressure levels, detecting heat changes, and spotting gas leaks or early signs of failure. Every device that is connected to Energy Robotics adds new detail to a digital twin (a virtual model of a site) for real-time, remote asset management, optimized integrity and predictability.
The benefits are substantial: Automated, AI-driven inspections across multiple devices significantly reduce operational costs, minimize safety risks, and improve data quality and consistency. Key performance indicators include an average 20% reduction in operator round costs and, e.g., a tenfold decrease in operational expenses for tank inspections.
“Our collaboration with Energy Robotics is an important example of how we enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our customers by utilizing cutting-edge technology,” said Gerald Pilotto, Chief Products & Innovation Officer at Bilfinger. “By combining our extensive expertise in maintenance and inspection with Energy Robotics’ innovative AI platform approach, we are delivering unparalleled value to our international customers. The next steps include scaling the deployment of these solutions across all our target industries, further solidifying Bilfinger’s leadership in digital transformation.”
An important aspect of this deployment is the professional implementation and integration of these autonomous technologies into customers’ existing operations, thereby addressing the industry’s major challenges: the inspection of aging infrastructure, hazardous locations, and remote equipment. Bilfinger thus provides a safer, more efficient alternative to traditional manual inspections and maintenance.
Marc Dassler, CEO and co-founder of Energy Robotics, commented: “This partnership advances our goal to bring AI-driven, autonomous inspection to vital assets. Together, we help operators achieve new levels of efficiency, resilience, and sustainability. Having Bilfinger as a partner who actively supports our product is a bold next step and a clear signal of strong reliability and trust for our solution in the industry.”
