What I enjoy most about my work is being able to deliver projects that make a real impact — helping companies use energy more efficiently and reduce their carbon footprint."
Meet Alin, an Energy Efficiency Consultant who supports industry on its path toward a more sustainable future. Every day, he combines technical expertise with business consulting, helping clients optimize energy use and reduce their carbon footprint.
How did you end up at Bilfinger?
Before joining Bilfinger, I worked as Utilities & Energy Manager for international manufacturing companies where I gained hands-on experience with sustainability and energy efficiency for industrial systems and maintenance processes. I was looking for a new challenge and wanted to grow in a more dynamic, international environment. When I saw the job opening, I felt it was a great match for my skills and career goals. I am really happy to be part of Bilfinger team now.
What do you like about your job?
What I really like about my job is that I get to work on projects that make a difference – helping companies use energy more efficiently and reduce their carbon footprint. The work is really varied, which keeps it interesting, and I enjoy the mix of technical problem solving and working with different teams. Plus, it feels good to be part of a company that enhances sustainability and efficiency.
What does your day usually look like?
Most days I’m working on offers and proposals for services like energy assessment audit, net zero roadmaps, technical due diligence, or feasibility studies. I often have meetings with existing or potential industrial clients to better understand their needs and present tailored solutions. Another part of my role involves identifying new business opportunities and staying proactive. It is a good mix of technical and client-facing work. Outside of work, I enjoy doing sports and reading – it helps me reset and stay sharp.
What does the team look like?
We are a diverse and international team. We use Microsoft Teams to stay in touch, meetings and manage projects daily. This allows us to stay well connected and collaborate efficiently regardless of distance. Of course, we all come from different cultural backgrounds, which sometimes means different working styles or ways of communicating. But I actually see that as a strength which makes teamwork interesting.
How important is teamwork to you?
Teamwork is very important to me. I work in a multicultural team, and we rely on constant communication and collaboration to get things done. I believe strong teamwork is what allows us to handle complex projects, meet client expectations, and continue learning from one another. I really appreciate the diversity of ideas that teamwork brings to delivering high quality results.
What does the future look like for you?
I see my future as a balance between professional growth and personal development. I want to take on more responsibility in sustainability and efficiency consulting. Overall, I see a future where I’m contributing meaningfully to sustainability in industry, growing within a company – Bilfinger – that values innovation and collaboration and maintaining a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle along the way. At the same time, I will keep prioritizing things like sport, nature walking, reading to stay balanced and keep learning.
How would you describe the culture at Bilfinger?
Bilfinger fosters a strong values-driven culture built on collaboration, performance and purpose. What stands out to me is the international and inclusive spirit. The company culture puts a clear focus on safety, quality and integrity which is reflected in both our daily operations and how we engage with clients. At the same time innovation and sustainability are at the heart of our work.
Personally, I also value Bilfinger’s commitment to professional development and knowledge sharing. It is a culture that challenges you to grow, while also supporting you every step of the way.
In two words Bilfinger’s culture for me is: motivating and meaningful.

You work on real sustainability & efficiency projects, in an international, supportive team that values innovation, growth and work-life balance. It is a place where you are trusted, challenged, and encouraged to make an impact. Bilfinger is a great place to be.
What do you like to do after work?
After work, I like to stay active and enjoy my free time in balanced way. I try to do sports regularly (running, football, boxing, biking). These activities help me clear my mind and stay energized. I also really enjoy spending time in nature, going for walks or just relaxing outdoors. On weekends or holidays, I like to go to seaside, swim and enjoy the sun. I am also quite social, so I enjoy barbecues, parties or just spending time with family and friends. And when I want something quieter, I always enjoy reading and listening to music. It is a great way for me to keep learning and unwind at the same time.
Alin shows that energy consulting is not just about numbers and analysis, but about making a real impact on the future of industry. Thanks to his dedication and collaborative spirit, Bilfinger teams deliver solutions that are both innovative and responsible.
