Aleksandra Mrozek, Health & Safety specialist, instructor and trainer

Safety does not depend solely on procedures, but above all on people and the communication between them, as well as their readiness to act as a team."
Meet Ola, a Health & Safety specialist, instructor, and trainer who brings passion to her work every single day. Her energy, expertise, and people-first approach show that safety isn’t just a requirement – it’s about caring for yourself and those around you.
How did you end up at Bilfinger?
After finishing my studies, my next goal was to work in the field I had trained for. Since Bilfinger ISP is a well-known company in my area, a family member mentioned that I could try applying there. Without thinking too much, I submitted my CV, and after the interview, I was offered the job.
What do you like about your job?
What I enjoy most is working with people – having the chance to talk to them and influence their daily actions. I find it rewarding when I can see that my work leads to real, tangible results, especially when it comes to making construction sites safer and workers more aware. That gives me a strong sense of purpose and impact. I also enjoy witnessing the changes that happen at different stages of building new facilities, and I really value the interactions I have with the people involved in these projects – I learn a lot from their experience and knowledge.
What does the team look like?
I work in the Insulation Division, specifically in the Mechanical and Project Insulation Department. We handle comprehensive project execution in the field of industrial insulation. My team consists of people working on various projects across the country and abroad. It includes contract managers, site managers, and supervisors overseeing the work directly on-site, as well as health and safety inspectors and specialists who are present on construction sites every day.
I also have to mention the office staff, whose support in handling formal, organizational, and HR matters is essential for the smooth execution of our projects. I've been with the company for many years, which has given me the opportunity to get to know almost everyone and work closely with many of them on different projects.
It’s a very diverse team – everyone brings something unique, whether it’s experience or personality. Although it hasn’t always been easy, over time we’ve developed a shared way of working. Even though we’re based in different locations, we stay in regular contact and tackle challenges together as they come up in our daily work. Everyone contributes to our common goal – delivering projects safely and efficiently.
How important is teamwork to you?
It's extremely important. Collaboration is a key part of my daily work. As someone responsible for health and safety, I know that safety isn’t just about following procedures – it’s mainly about people, communication, trust, and the willingness to act as a team. Working together allows us to respond to risks more quickly, solve problems effectively, and create a work environment where everyone feels responsible not only for their own tasks but also for the well-being of others.
This applies not only to supervisors and project managers but also to manual workers – because it’s their awareness and reactions that truly shape the safety culture on a construction site.
What does the future look like for you?
I’d like to continue developing in the field of health and safety – to better understand the needs of employees. I see myself not just as someone who ensures compliance with regulations, but also as someone who inspires others to make conscious and responsible decisions, and motivates them to take action for safety.
I’m not aiming for any major revolutions – I’m more focused on steady growth and improving my skills, though I’m open to whatever the future brings. I believe that good things come with time, and it’s important to stay open to new opportunities and challenges – and life certainly hasn’t been short of those for me.
Why should new colleagues come to work at Bilfinger?
Because it's a place where you can grow, gain experience, and learn from people with extensive knowledge and hands-on practice. The company offers many opportunities to get involved in different areas – there’s something for everyone. As an HSE specialist in my department, I have the space to take initiative, not just to monitor – and I’m truly grateful for that.
What do you like to do after work?
Everyone who knows me knows that I usually spend my free time being active – mainly cycling, which is an essential part of my daily life. Since I also love hiking in the mountains, I often combine these two passions – cycling in the mountains. On slower evenings, I enjoy relaxing with a good book – at least one I consider good.
Ola shows that safety is not just about rules, but about everyday teamwork and care for others. Thanks to people like her, projects run smoothly and safely.
