2016-05-25 Bilfinger is building a district heating pipeline from the city of Datteln to the existing district heating grid on behalf of Uniper. The 13.5 kilometer pipeline runs from the newly constructed Datteln 4 power plant via Castrop-Rauxel to Recklinghausen where it will be connected to the district heating grid.

Within the scope of the project, the largest British water utility intends to comprehensively develop its entire technological infrastructure. To this end, the utility has formed a “Technology and Transformation Alliance“ with the consulting and service companies. Planning for the major project calls for a volume of about €480 million until 2020. Of this total, around 15 percent are attributable to automation technology as Bilfinger’s area of work.

2016-04-01 Engineering and services group Bilfinger has successfully sold its Water Technologies division to Chinese company Chengdu Techcent Environment Group. The responsible anti-trust authorities approved the deal. As a result of the sale, the company will receive net proceeds in the amount of €200 million as additional liquidity in the first quarter of 2016.
2016-02-25 The engineering and services group Bilfinger has successfully completed installation of a total of 72 foundations for the new Sandbank offshore wind park. The foundation elements were installed 90 kilometers west of the island of Sylt in the German North Sea with the help of a special installation barge in water depths of more than 30 meters.
