His current employer, Linde AG, has agreed on an early cancellation of his current contract. The concerned parties are coordinating when exactly Thomas Blades will take up his duties. Bilfinger SE expects that he will assume the position of Chairman of the Executive Board by the third quarter of 2016 at the latest.

2016-04-01 Engineering and services group Bilfinger has successfully sold its Water Technologies division to Chinese company Chengdu Techcent Environment Group. The responsible anti-trust authorities approved the deal. As a result of the sale, the company will receive net proceeds in the amount of €200 million as additional liquidity in the first quarter of 2016.
2016-02-25 The engineering and services group Bilfinger has successfully completed installation of a total of 72 foundations for the new Sandbank offshore wind park. The foundation elements were installed 90 kilometers west of the island of Sylt in the German North Sea with the help of a special installation barge in water depths of more than 30 meters.
2016-02-17 Bilfinger, the engineering and services group, has won orders with a total volume of about €60 million from three international pharmaceutical companies. They relate to the design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of biotechnology production facilities.

Orders received amounted to €6,825 million, which corresponds to an increase of 24 percent as compared to the prior-year figure. The contract has an initial term of five years and total volume in the mid double-digit million range.
