Industrial services for pharmaceutical customers: Orders with a volume of €60 million received
February 17, 2016
Bilfinger, the engineering and services group, has won orders with a total volume of about €60 million from three international pharmaceutical companies. They relate to the design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of biotechnology production facilities.
So-called “super skids” are being deployed here. These are pre-manufactured modules for which plant components are produced under ideal conditions, connected to one another at the site and then put into operation. The advantages lie in the superior quality from manufacturing in a production facility and speedy commissioning of the modules at the customer site.
In the course of its strategic repositioning in industrial services, Bilfinger identified the pharmaceutical sector as a focus industry and, within the scope of this package of orders, has been able to gain two new renowned customers. Chairman of the Executive Board Per H. Utnegaard: “With this order success, Bilfinger has once again demonstrated its high degree of competence in the solution of technically demanding tasks. We are consistently moving forward with the strategy of focusing on core industries such as pharma”.
In recent years, volumes in the pharmaceutical industry have continuously increased and in the past year surpassed the €200 million mark. In the years to come, Bilfinger also anticipates disproportionately strong growth rates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry in its relevant markets of Central and Northern Europe.
