University students

Are there part-time jobs for students and who do I need to contact?

Depending on the location, Bilfinger offers you the opportunity to experience the practical world of work and to earn money as a working student during your studies. Ideally you will already have done an internship with us so that you are familiar with the procedures and structures of the company.

What are the requirements to be able to do an internship?

As well as good grades, you should be able to demonstrate commitment, teamwork, motivation and flexibility. Of course we'll be pleased if you have already acquired practical or conceptual skills that you can put to use for us in specific projects. A basic interest in our company is also essential. What's more, you should also be able to envisage starting your career with us once you graduate. Part of our recruitment strategy is to go for people we already know. For compulsory internships we hold information interviews beforehand in order to discuss the content of the internship. For voluntary internships the content is based on the area of work you are assigned to.

Which disciplines is Bilfinger SE interested in for internships?

We are especially looking for university students in economics, engineering, information technology and natural sciences. But students from the fields of computer science, supply engineering, architecture, surveying and alignment, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering are also welcome to apply. For other disciplines an internship depends on the specific needs arising from specific projects.

When should I apply for an internship?

The earlier we hear from you the better! There are, however, no set start dates. The best idea would be to visit our job market and apply 3-5 months before you want to start your internship.

What should my internship application include?

If you're interested in a pre-university internship, then a short application is sufficient. For all other internships you should send a full application. In addition to all your main references, this includes a CV and a cover letter. Have a look at our tips for applicants!

Are there also international internships?

Offers from international branches of our German companies can be found in the job market. For internships in our international subsidiaries, please contact the Human Resources department of the subsidiary directly. Please note: For an internship abroad you should take at least three months and you have completed already four semesters of your bachelor studies.

What are the requirements for applying to do a thesis?

You should have a clear idea of what your bachelor or master thesis will be and present us a topic that is equally interesting for you and for us. This topic can then be tailored to current developments. We also expect you to be interested in our company and working for us once you graduate.

Which disciplines is Bilfinger interested in for a thesis?

We are especially looking for university students in economics, engineering, information technology and natural sciences. But students from the fields of computer science, supply engineering, architecture, surveying and alignment, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering are also welcome to apply. For other disciplines it depends on the topic and whether optimum mentoring is possible.

When should I apply to do a thesis?

We don't have any set start dates. Ideally you should get in touch with us four to five months before the start of your project. We are also aware that topics often arise at short notice. If this is the case then just apply as soon as you know what your thesis will be on.

What should my application to do a thesis include?

If you're interested in a bachelor or master's thesis in cooperation with us, then have a look at our job market. Here you will find specific offers from our German companies. If you don't find anything suitable here, please get in touch with the contact persons from the respective companies directly. Please attach a short exposé of your thesis. Get us interested in your academic project and describe your topic in no more than one page. Your application should also include all your main references and referees and a CV. Your cover letter should explain briefly why you are the right candidate for us. Convince us!
