Prof. Hans Helmut Schetter celebrates his 60th birthday

Prof. Hans Helmut Schetter, member of the Executive Board at Bilfinger Berger AG, celebrates his 60th birthday on February 25, 2009.

Hans Helmut Schetter was born in Albstadt, near Stuttgart. After taking a degree in civil engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and initial career steps in the construction industry, he joined the Bilfinger Berger Group in 1990. Hans Helmut Schetter was appointed to the Executive Board in 1995 and is responsible for Human Resources, Technology as well as parts of the German and international construction business.

In addition to his Executive Board duties, he is also socio-politically active. In the German Construction Industry Association, Hans Helmut Schetter heads the ‘Major Companies’ work group. He is also a member of the presiding committee of the CDU’s economic council, which urgently seeks the reform of Germany’s economic, financial and social policies.

Hans Helmut Schetter is committed to attracting and retaining junior managers. In connection with this commitment he has a teaching appointment as an honorary professor at the Technical University in Darmstadt and is a member of the University Council. The establishment of a close link between scientific work and professional practice is of particular importance for him.

In 2006, Hans Helmut Schetter was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon from the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his socio-political commitment.
