Expansion of the services business in Australia:
Bilfinger Berger acquires Clough Engineering & Maintenance

Bilfinger Berger continues to focus on growth in the services business. Through the acquisition of Clough Engineering & Maintenance in Australia, the Group expands its activities into the area of power plant service. The company is specialized in the operation and maintenance of installations in coal-fired power plants. In the current financial year it will generate an output volume of €15 million with 150 employees. Financial terms of the deal are to remain confidential.

Bilfinger Berger's services business in Australia to date has consisted mainly of the repair and maintenance of electrical, gas and water networks as well as of industrial plants. Output volume generated by these activities in 2007 increased to about €250 million. Given the growing importance of environmental protection in Australia and corresponding demand for power plant upgrades, this expansion is a significant strategic step with great potential for the future.

Bilfinger Berger is a leading provider of services for utility companies, core markets are Germany and other European countries, the Arabian Gulf region and South Africa. The Group's Services business segment continued its dynamic growth in all three of its divisions – Industrial Services, Power Services and Facility Services – in the past financial year, once again making the highest contribution to earnings of all segments.
