Bilfinger Berger successful in Scotland:
Group secures another concession project in the British education sector

For Bilfinger Berger, the United Kingdom remains the most important market for concession projects in public-sector building: A consortium under the leadership of the Group has received an order to design, finance, build and, over a period of 32 years, to operate three schools in the Scottish Borders area. Investment volume amounts to €140 million. Bilfinger Berger will be investing equity capital in the amount of €8 million into the project company.

In addition to this development, Bilfinger is currently preferred bidder in two other education sector projects in the United Kingdom. Three new schools are to be built in Clackmannanshire, Scotland, along with four education facilities in East Down and Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

Bilfinger Berger’s portfolio already includes numerous school projects in the United Kingdom. The investment volume for projects in the British education sector amounts to €550 million. There are currently about 25,000 students attending facilities owned by Bilfinger Berger under a long-term concession model.
