Transportation infrastructure expansion in Brisbane:
Bilfinger Berger receives major contracts worth over €1 billion
Bilfinger Berger continues to benefit from strong demand for major infrastructure projects in Australia. In Brisbane, the Group has recently received two new major contracts with a total volume of over €1 billion.
Bilfinger Berger thus has a significant involvement in the design, expansion and maintenance of the Gateway Motorway. The project includes the construction of a complex bridge structure, the modernization of an existing bridge and the expansion of a 20-kilometer long section of motorway. The total volume of the measures amounts to more than €800 million, half of which is accounted for by Bilfinger Berger.
In addition, a consortium with the Group's participation has undertaken the construction of a new 5.2-kilometer long highway link that will connect the suburbs to the north and to the south of the Australian city. The centerpiece of the project, which has a total volume of more than €1.2 billion, is a double-tube tunnel structure. Bilfinger Berger's share of the construction volume is over €600 million.
In Australia alone, Bilfinger Berger has now taken over civil engineering projects worth over €1.5 billion in the current year.
