Strong position in the United Kingdom consolidated:
Bilfinger Berger preferred bidder for a further education concession project

For the third time this year, Bilfinger Berger has achieved preferred bidder status on an education concession project in the United Kingdom. In East Down and Lisburn, Northern Ireland, the Group will redevelop and expand further education facilities, together with their subsequent operation over a period of 25 years. The investment volume is in excess of €90 million.

In recent months, Bilfinger Berger has been named preferred bidder for the privately-financed development and long-term operation of two major school projects in Scotland. In the Scottish Borders Region, a consortium under the leadership of the Group will design, finance and build three new school complexes under a 32 year concession. And in Clackmannanshire, the Group heads a consortium which will realize three new school buildings, also under the Public Private Partnerships model. Here the concession duration is also 32 years.

Bilfinger Berger's concessions portfolio in the United Kingdom already comprises numerous educational facilities. Following the financial close on the three new projects, the volume of privately-financed education projects in the United Kingdom will be in excess of €500 million. At that time, more than 25,000 students will be attending education facilities provided by Bilfinger Berger.
