Industrial service as core business:
Rheinhold & Mahla AG to operate under the name Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG
With the development of Bilfinger Berger into a Multi Service Group, industrial services are firmly anchored as a core business. Against this backdrop, the name Rheinhold & Mahla AG was changed in October, 2006 to Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG. The acquisition of the company in 2002 signaled the start of the successful expansion of Bilfinger Berger's Services segment which, within the span of just a few years, has become an additional major business area for the Group, along with construction.
Under the Bilfinger Berger umbrella, Rheinhold & Mahla has systematically developed into a leading services provider for the process industry through targeted acquisitions and by shedding non-core activities. Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services offers its clients from the chemical, petrochemical, energy and oil and gas industries comprehensive services for the repair, maintenance and modernization of production facilities. The company profits from the world-wide trend toward outsourcing technical services to specialists. Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services is among the market leaders in Europe and in the current year, with about 14,000 employees, will generate an output volume of over €1.2 billion.
The Power Services and Facility Services divisions, which complete Bilfinger Berger's activities in the Services segment, are also steered by management companies under the Bilfinger Berger brand. The segment will increase its output volume in 2006 to more than €2.7 billion and, with consistently high margins, will once again make a significant contribution to the Group's net profit.
