Expansion of services activities on the Swiss market:
Bilfinger Berger takes over facility services provider Serimo

Bilfinger Berger is expanding its position in the attractive market for demanding facility services in Switzerland. The Group has acquired an 80 percent stake in Serimo Holding AG in Basel. The remaining 20 percent stay in the hands of the company's management. Both parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.

Serimo is the largest independent commercial facility services company in Switzerland and provides demanding commercial services including portfolio and asset management. The company currently manages 1,300 properties throughout the country and, with 150 employees, achieves an annual turnover of around €20 million. The acquisition of Serimo represents an excellent complement to existing Group activities in technical facility management in Switzerland. In 2004, the subsidiary HSG expanded its activities into the Swiss market where it manages, among other things, all 175 properties from ABB Immobilien AG. The framework agreement has a volume of €50 million over a five-year period.

Bilfinger Berger has, within a short period of time, built its Services business segment into a second strong pillar in addition to the construction and concessions activities. The Group has re-positioned itself with the development of powerful units for Industrial Services and Facility Services. In the 2005 financial year, output volume in the Facility Services business increased to nearly €600 million. Together with Industrial Services, output volume in the entire segment reached €2.3 billion. With its stable and high margins, the segment makes an important contribution to net profit.
