Majority Stake in EPM Assetis: Bilfinger Berger assumes a leading role in commercial facility management
With its majority stake in Assetis GmbH and the subsequent consolidation with several of its own service units, Bilfinger Berger has assumed a leading role in commercial facility management in Germany.
Bilfinger Berger and Westdeutsche Immobilienbank (WIB) both bring their activities in commercial facility management into EPM Assetis, thereby creating a strong and profitable company in which Bilfinger Berger holds a 70% stake. The remaining 30% is held by WIB. The two parties have agreed to remain silent with regard to the financial details of the transaction. In the current fiscal year, EPM Assetis will generate output volume of over €60 million with 400 employees. The ambitious earnings goals set by Bilfinger Berger in the Services business will be exceeded. From the very beginning, the new company will make a positive contribution to Bilfinger Berger's group earnings.
The competencies of the merged units complement one-another perfectly. EPM Assetis, with its comprehensive spectrum of services in the area of sophisticated commercial facility management provides a boost to the facility services activities of the Bilfinger Berger Group. In the current fiscal year, output volume in the services business segment will climb to a total of €2 billion, of which more than €500 million is accounted for by real-estate service. "The services business gives us a second pillar in addition to our construction activities. With good margins, it strengthens our profitability and gives greater stability to our earnings", stressed Herbert Bodner, Chairman of the Executive Board at Bilfinger Berger, at the company's annual general meeting in Mannheim.
