Bilfinger Berger: Udo G. Stark succeeds Gert Becker as Chairman of the Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board of Bilfinger Berger AG elected Udo G. Stark (56) to succeed Gert Becker (70) as Chairman at its meeting on May 26, 2004. Udo G. Stark, the Executive Board Chairman of mg technologies AG, has been a member of the Bilfinger Berger Supervisory Board since May 2003.

Gert Becker, who was Chairman of the Executive Board of the former Degussa AG until 1996, had given up his seat on the Supervisory Board with effect from the end of the Annual General Meeting on May 26, 2004, in view of the age limit recommended by the German Corporate Governance Code.

Gert Becker joined the Supervisory Board of Bilfinger Berger in 1983. During his six years as Chairman, he energetically fostered the company's transformation into a leading international Multi Service Group. In recognition of his meritorious contribution to the company, Gert Becker has been named as honorary chairman of the Supervisory Board.
