Industrial services in the United States: Bilfinger Berger wins contracts worth 110 million to build and modernize facilities at three wastewater treatment plants
Fru-Con, the U.S.-based subsidiary of Bilfinger Berger, has won new contracts worth a total of 110 million to build new facilities and carry out upgrading work at three wastewater treatment plants in the greater Washington DC area.
Fru-Con will renovate part of the Blue Plains Regional Sewage Treatment Plant in Washington, which is the largest facility of its type in the United States. In neighboring Virginia, Fru-Con will build the first phase of the state-of-the-art Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility in Loudoun Country, where increased water treatment capacity is urgently needed to meet growing demand. And under a third contract, Fru-Con will renovate an existing water pollution control plant in Arlington County.
The construction and upgrading of wastewater treatment facilities has an important place in the spectrum of activities and services that Fru-Con undertakes for its customers. Because water pollution standards are becoming more stringent in the United States, this sector offers Fru-Con excellent growth prospects.
