Contract worth €140 million in Nigeria Bilfinger Berger to expand administrative offices of National Assembly in Abuja

Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, a subsidiary of Bilfinger Berger AG, has won a major contract to expand the administrative complex of the National Assembly in Nigeria's new capital city of Abuja. The €140 million project from the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory calls for the turnkey construction of two five-story office buildings for senators and members of the House of Representatives, using a design prepared jointly by Nigerian and German architects.

Bilfinger Berger has operated successfully in Nigeria for decades, amid changing political and economic conditions. Among its recent projects in the country was the National Stadium in Abuja. This 60,000-seat facility was built on a turnkey basis in only two and a half years - in time to host the eighth All Africa Games, the continent's most important sporting event, last year.
