Bilfinger Berger builds power station in California worth €100 million

Fru-Con, Bilfinger Berger's American subsidiary, has received a contract to build a combined gas and steam turbine power station with a capacity of 500 megawatts in Sacramento, California. The order is worth €100 million.

The project has been commissioned by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), which is one of the largest electricity suppliers in the USA. The new power station, whose capacity is later planned to rise to 1,000 megawatts, will help SMUD to increase the amount of self-generated electricity and lower the levels bought in. The company will therefore be in a position to provide enough energy when demand is high.

Fru-Con has many years' experience of constructing, equipping, commissioning, maintaining and operating power stations. As a leading provider of integrated solutions, the company is benefiting from the growing demand for electricity in the USA.
