New major orders in Australia: Bilfinger Berger to construct buildings with a total volume of €250 million
Baulderstone Hornibrook, the Australian subsidiary of Bilfinger Berger AG, has received new major orders for the design and turn-key construction of residential and commercial buildings with a total volume of €250 million.
In Melbourne the company will construct a 39-floor office building with 100,000 square meters gross floor space worth €100 million, as well as a research center for biotechnology with 23,000 square meters gross floor space and an order volume of €40 million. In Sydney two residential complexes with a total of 490 apartments will be built with an order volume of €70 million. Furthermore, in the coastal town of Glenelg near Adelaide, Baulderstone Hornibrook will construct a residential building with 260 apartments worth €40 million.
During this financial year, Baulderstone Hornibrook has performed very successfully in a difficult economic environment. With volume holding stable and a good incoming-orders situation, its order backlog of nearly €600 million at the end of September 2002 improved by 30% as compared to prior year's level.
