Major new contracts valued at €160 million: Bilfinger Berger enhancing its international position as an infrastructure specialist

Bilfinger Berger has been awarded two major contracts in Algeria and Sweden to implement infrastructure projects valued at €160 million.

French subsidiary Razel is to build a dam 120 meters high and 420 meters long south east of the capital city of Algiers. With a capacity of 450 million cubic meters, the storage reservoir will be an important element in the region’s water supply system. The contract is valued at €100 million. Razel has been active in French-speaking Algeria for decades.

Meanwhile in Sweden, Bilfinger Berger is building the 700 meter long Svinesund Bridge over the Idefjord. The structure on the border with Norway forms part of the highway between Göteborg and Oslo. The principal feature of the project worth some €60 million is a reinforced concrete arch with a 250 meter span which links the two sides of the fjord at an exposed location. Last year the Company was awarded the contract to construct a technically sophisticated road tunnel in Göteborg valued at €50 million.

Bilfinger Berger is one of the leading enterprises bidding for large-scale infrastructure projects in the global markets it serves. The Company intends to continue to reinforce its outstanding international position. One of Bilfinger Berger's major emphases is on expanding its presence in markets in which it is already successfully represented.
