Bilfinger Berger takes over Wolfferts Group - Technical facility management receives a further boost

Bilfinger Berger AG is forging ahead with its drive to become a Multi Service Group for building and infrastructure. With effect from 1 January, 2002, the company acquired full ownership of J. Wolfferts GmbH in Cologne together with its affiliated companies throughout Germany. The purchase price is the subject of a non-disclosure agreement with the previous owners.

The Wolfferts Group is one of Germany's few comprehensive providers in building services engineering. Its portfolio boasts consulting, planning and implementation services and operation of technical facilities. In fact, the company's technical facility management operations are currently experiencing exceptional growth. Its key accounts include many big names in the automotive, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The volume of work carried out by the company's workforce of 670 amounted to €125 million in the last fiscal year. The acquisition of J. Wolfferts GmbH will augment the Real Estate Development and BOT division of the Bilfinger Berger Group by adding to its expertise in the highly demanding field of technical facility management, and will also form a springboard for further dynamic expansion in this sector.

As part of its evolution into a Multi Service Group for building and infrastructure, Bilfinger Berger is committed to broadening its range of services both upstream and downstream of its core construction operations.
