Built by Baulderstone Hornibrook

Unesco has added Sydney Opera House to its list of World Heritage sites. Commenting on its decision, the committee described the building, inaugurated in 1973, as “one of the great architectural achievements of the 20th century.” The spectacular roof designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, considered initially to be beyond the limits of technology, was erected by Baulderstone Hornibrook, which has been part of the Bilfinger Berger Group since 1993.
